Well, I can't give you a link to a trailer of the PC version, but the article clearly states that they used FRAPS on the PC demo, the San Francisco level and even what resolutions/settings. Thats how they took the FPS - the components they used are noted on the top left of the pictures with the bar charts. Screenshots are also there, just click them. Besides, how would they benchmark different GPUs on a console?
At first I felt like the game was crap, I slided all the time and stuff. Then I remembered to actually use the brake and drive more like it wasn't Mario Kart (in which I only need one button - the gas :p) and I started getting better. In the end I wasn't able to beat the eBay WR, I only managed to make it in 1:48:62. Almost threw the pad into the TV.
So you want to be forced to buy three high-end GPUs à 500$ to see the game running at 50FPS at 1280x1024? You must have balls, man. And a lot of money to spend, too.
Where did you get the info from your second paragraph from? I ask, because I don't see anything related to that mentioned in the source. When I compare the screens they posted - which are clearly not from the XBox360 demo, hence the F-keys in the pictures - I do not spot any difference to what I saw on my PS3. I am no critic, though.
EDIT: Nice one, I have to give you that. Should have quoted you, eh?
Nice to a see a quite nicely looking game to not need 3Way-SLI/CF to run at higher resolutions at what appears to be quite playable speed. Kudos to Codemasters for having such an engine.
Am I the only one who doesn't give a **** when it comes to resolutions as long as they don't make the game look ugly?
I love how people disagree with you. Did you guys - especially those who disagree - know that the first Wii devkits were actually GameCubes with a WiiMote prototype attached? Apparently not. Of course there have been additions to the hardware in terms of processing and graphics power to some extent, but it is not dramatically more powerful than a GameCube or a PS2. Some people just tend to forget what you can do with whats inside the Wii. Even if it really is just a "GameCube 1.5" -...
I would have loved a Dreamcast 2. Back then, when SEGA didn't screw up everything. If I ever was a fanboy, then I was one back when I got my Dreamcast on Christmas Eve 1999. I will never forget the undescribable fun I had when I played the **** out of Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, Shen Mue, Marvel Vs. Capcom... those were THE days of my time as a gamer. I have so many fond memorys of playing games on that baby... It is a shame what SEGA has become. Sonic The Hedgehog isn't what he was anymor...
For having the brains NOT to add more fuel to a stupid war between fanboys.
GTA4? DMC4? I didn't say anything about them and I am pretty sure the XBox360 didn't get them last year. All I meant was that both sides can say "I played it last year.", that doesn't do anything. Yeah, some games come first on one console, later on another. I don't care, More games = bigger library = good. Thats how I see it.
I don't know if it sucks. I still won't buy it, it doesn't appeal to me, thats it. Besides, I could have played it on PC - didn't do that either, though.
So did I with Unreal Tournament 3.
You are right, imho. "Hardcore Gamers" have always been there and will stay. Those people that the Wii brought to gaming, i.e. older people, people who never wanted to play a game before, have also been there forever, they just were not called "Casual Gamers". Just because there now is a casual market doesn't turn all the HC's around to only play minigames or the like. Casual games have always been there and most people played them - Solitaire, Minesweeper anyone? The only...
No wonder. To emulate something, you need roughly 10 times the processing power (just an estimation, though). Problem is, the DS only has two rather slow CPUs build in (no bashing). Although they can produce quite nice graphics on par with the N64 and better, it is not enough to software emulate things like a SNES. The PSP is better suited for such things since it has a lot faster CPU - problem here is that most emulators were abandoned and nobody takes care of them now, i.e. optimizes them. ...
Yes, it should have tons of good games, of course, every console should. My only gripe is that I fear the game would not have that of a big audience on the Wii. I won't bash any Wii owner - I have one myself - but I would rather see it on PS3 or XBox360.
Then just get the Sony bundle. If you don't care for the highly limited gun metal PS3, that is. It just comes down to how much you want to pay for a collectors item.
Why do you people need to start the flaming? If you can't contribute in a productive way, just let it be.
Just leave. Please. For the wellbeing of all intelligent people here. The same goes for the moron who agreed with you.
How can someone be so... ah forget it, won't waste any more time on you.
To be honest... I will miss her. I liked reading her blog when I sat on the toilet. It kinda fitted the situation, we both did the same. Ah, memories...
